August Maturo wins the ‘Best Actor’ Award for ‘Slapface’ at Grimmfest

Young actor August Maturo has a major reason to be proud. He won the “Best Actor” Award for “Slapface” at the 2021 Grimmfest Awards. Digital Journal has the scoop.

Young actor August Maturo has a major reason to be proud. He won the “Best Actor” Award for “Slapface” at the 2021 Grimmfest Awards. Digital Journal has the scoop.

“Slapface” was written and directed by Jeremiah Kipp. Aside from Maturo, the cast includes Libe Barer, Mike Manning, Mirabelle Lee, Bianca D’Ambrosio, Chiara D’Ambrosio, Lukas Hassel, Alixx Schottland, Curtis Braly, and Dan Hedaya. It was produced by Manning, Nick Theurer, Artisha Mann-Cooper, and Joe Benedetto.

“I’m so grateful to the Grimmfest Jury for selecting me as ‘Best Actor’ for ‘Slapface.’ I’m so honored and honestly quite shocked. Attending Grimmfest in person this year in beautiful Manchester was a dream come true, and one of the greatest experiences of my life. And this award is truly the icing on the cake. Thank you again Grimmfest,” Maturo exclaimed.

“Slapface” also took home the award for “Best Score” by composer Barry J Neely. Earlier this year, “Slapface” won the “Audience Award” for “Best Feature” at Cinequest, and it was recently acquired by Shudder, and it will be released in the first quarter of 2022.
