On being afforded the privilege to open for Paul Weller, Rae said, “It feels really cool to open for Paul Weller. He’s a living legend.”
When asked what to expect at her show at The Paramount, Rae said, “I will play an electric strat, originally purchased at the Chelsea Hotel here in New York City in 1983, and given to me because I’m an 80’s baby. Also, my friend Paul Beaubrun will be joining me on stage. He’s a wonderful guitar player.”
She revealed that her plans for the future are to release her album Sub Rosa on vinyl while she works on another record that is due out next spring.
Digital transformation of music industry
On the impact of technology in the music business, she said, “Technology has shifted the world in general. As a musician, I am able to reach people that I couldn’t before at the press of a button. I think it’s exciting and like the Wild West makes me want to run with the bulls and be ahead of the curve!”
“I use technology to make records,” she said. “I recorded some of my last album on my computer! So technology is a resource for immediacy in capturing inspiration.”
For her fans and music listeners, she concluded, “The Paramount with Paul Weller will be a soulful and inspiring evening.”
