DC Comics is doing a good job dominating prime time television, while Marvel Comics is busy with its Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It is obvious that DC Entertaining is building an individual TV universe that encompasses Arrow, Flash, the upcoming Vixen animated series, and future TV series. Fans should know that the second season of Arrow had a backdoor episode for Flash, where Barry Allen visited Starling City to gather information on the super-soldier formula that pumped through Slade Wilson’s body.
Things are getting “real” for Barry Allen aka Flash and Oliver Queen aka Arrow, where everybody else is being taken along for the ride. It seems likely that Arrow and Flash are going to have a shared explosive season finale, which you should understand if you have been keeping up with both series.
The stakes are incredibly high for both heroes as they have their own individual full plates of s—t they have to do.
Dr. Harrison Wells is revealed to not be the person many believe him to be.
His real name is Eobard Thawne and he killed the original Dr. Wells a decade and a half prior to the events of Flash. Thawne aka Reverse-Flash is trying to find a way to return back to his future timeline, but he is struggling with Dr. Wells’ consciousness & memories due to absorbing his DNA.
Allen is getting close to finding out that Thawne is responsible for killing his mother, a crime that Barry’s father was wrongfully convicted of.
Ra’s al-Ghul, with the help of Maseo, has sullied Arrow’s reputation by killing people in his name.
This is the straw that breaks the camel’s back with SCPD Captain Lance, who is still angry about being the “last person” to know about Sarah’s death. Arrow ultimately takes the offer and becomes the successor to Ra’s al-Ghul, which explains the reason he is wearing the Assassin’s League garbs in the upcoming Flash season finale.
Arrow and Flash will be assisted by Firestorm, Black Canary, and Atom.
Ray Palmer, portrayed by Brandon Routh, finally has his A.T.O.M armor working. This does put Felicity Smoak in an interesting position because both series revealed her romantic feelings toward Flash, Arrow, and Atom.
CCPD Detective Joseph West will be working with Captain Lance in investigating the death of Dr. Wells, where the Flash season finale trailer shows them standing over the late-doctor’s bones. It is obvious that Captain Lance’s horizons have been broadened.
The trailer also explores the possibility that Cisco will acquire superpowers, too, because he becomes Vibe in the comic universe. It is unknown if Caitlyn Snow ends up becoming Killer Frost, which is the case in the comics.
Should that be the case, then it makes her the perfect contrast to Firestorm because of their past history in the Flash series.
Fans can look forward to the finale soon, where Gorilla Grodd is planning to take action soon.
The theme of time-travel in Flash could lead the possibility that Sarah Lance, the first Black Canary, could be revived. Caity Lotz, who plays Sarah Lance, is cast for the upcoming new spinoff. It is unknown what role Lotz will play, but she will be working with Brandon Routh and Victor Garber.
Garber plays Dr. Martin Stein, who joins with Ronnie Raymond to become Firestorm. Raymond, Caitlyn’s ex-fiance, is portrayed by Robbie Amell (Stephen Amell’s cousin).
Stage actress Ciara Renee is cast as Hawkgirl and Arthur Darvill (Dr. Who & Broadchurch) is cast as Rip Hunter.
There is a planned African-American hero planning to be cast, but no details were given.
Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, the stars of Prison Break, respectively reprise their villainous roles as Captain Cold and Heat Wave. Just to clear things up, they starred in Prison Break and reunited to play villains in Flash.
It is also reported that Deadshot will not be used in Arrow for the time being.
