On September 24, the acclaimed rock group Angels & Airwaves released their latest studio offering “LIFEFORMS” via Rise Records/BMG. Digital Journal has the scoop.
This marks the band’s first album in seven years, and every song on this collection has its own identity. This musical effort explores a wide range of topics and it stays centered around the theme of interpersonal relationships. Its lyricism is thought-out and intentional, sonically, it has a retro vibe to it.
“LIFEFORMS” opens with the midtempo and anthemic “Timebomb,” which instantly lures listeners in from the opening verse. It is followed by the uptempo and spitfire “Euphoria” and the mellow and nonchalant “Spellbound.”
Equally noteworthy is the vivacious “No More Guns,” the unapologetic “Losing My Mind,” and the enthralling “Automatic.”
After the melodically stunning “Rebel,” it closes with “A Fire in a Nameless Town” and on a fitting note with the radio-friendly “Kiss & Tell,” as they leave their fans yearning for more.
Angels & Airwaves is comprised of frontman Tom DeLonge on lead vocals, guitar/=, and synths, Ilan Rubin on drums, guitar, backing vocals, and synths, David Kennedy on the guitar, and Matt Rubano on the bass.
“LIFEFORMS” is available on digital service providers by clicking here. It is highly eclectic, and it garners an A rating.
