McCreery proposed to Dugal at one of his favorite locations, the mountains of North Carolina, near Grandfather Mountain. He asked her to go on a hike with him on their favorite trail. When they arrived at the top of the mountain, they were surrounded by green forests and he got down on one knee, and presented her with a custom-made ring, as he asked her to be his wife.
The country singer and former American Idol winner was elated for this to finally happen. He praised Gabi as “the perfect girl” and as his “true love.”
They had met in their kindergarten class in North Carolina, and they began dating six years ago in their senior year in high school. Dugal is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, and she works as a pediatric cardiac nurse at Duke University Hospital.
Dugal appears in his latest music video for his single “Five More Minutes,” which garnered a favorable review from Digital Journal.
