Alternative Rock Radio returns to New York City with ALT 92.3 FM

New York’s New Alternative (ALT 92.3 FM) disrupts the airwaves with 10,000 songs in a row, and the best part, no commercials. Entercom made the official announcement on November 17 via a press statement. Entercom Communications Corp is a leading media and entertainment company in America, which reaches and engages over 100 million people each week through its collection of radio stations, digital platforms and live events; moreover, Entercom is the top creator of live, original and local audio content, as well as the leader in news and sports radio.

Alternative Rock will be returning to radio for the first time since 2011, in “The Big Apple,” which is home to the biggest media market in the United States.

The radio station, ALT 92.3 FM, is expected to give music listeners and fans a true alternative, where it puts the music first. Most impressive is the fact that listeners will be able to hear 10,000 songs in a row, without any commercials.

Pat Paxton is the President of Programming at Entercom. “In a city where alternative music is a way of life, we are thrilled to finally fill the void in radio in New York City,” Paxton said, prior to noting that they are very “excited to turn up the volume.”
