It is a documentary-style special and it will be available on Amazon Prime Video. It deals with Riley (played by Finn Douglas), who is attending school remotely due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and he created a project in memory of an “unforgettable” person in his life.
Riley chose Jason (Emmy nominee Mitchell Anderson) for this project, and he enlists his family members and friends to share their experiences with Jason, and their thoughts as to why he is so memorable. This special episode was filmed remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic during the fall of 2020.
Allison Vanore, the producer and director, stated that they knew that were not able to film the third season of After Forever as expected, since they did not want to put anybody at risk. “In the meantime, we’re thrilled we could do something creative to keep our After Forever family and fans engaged,” Vanore remarked.
The show is planning on resuming production for the third season at some point in late 2021 COVID-permitting. In this episode, Finn Douglas will premiere his song “Forever There,” which he penned and performed.
The cast includes Kevin Spirtas, Mitchell Anderson, David Dean Bottrell, Erin Cherry, Finn Douglas, Anita Gillette, Christopher J. Hanke, Cady Huffman, Peter Y. Kim, Robert Emmet Lunney, Jonathan Rayson, Jamison Stern, Lenny Wolpe, and new cast member Alma Cuervo.
After Forever: Riley’s Unforgettable School Project was executive produced by creators Kevin Spirtas and the late Michael Slade, and it was subsequently produced and directed by Allison Vanore. To this day, After Forever is the most Emmy-awarded LGBTQ-themed drama series on any platform.
