The sales totals were compiled by Nielsen Music, and this makes 25 the only album to ever sell more than one million copies in its second music. Nielsen Music dates back to 1991.
Her album sold 3.38 million units in its first week, thus making it the first CD to ever sell more than three million copies, thus shattering ‘N Sync’s record with their No Strings Attached album in 2000.
Thus far, Adele’s CD has sold over four million units in the United States alone, and it was released on November 20 via Columbia Records/XL Recordings.
Adele’s single “Hello” sits at five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, with no signs of slowing down or dropping anytime soon.
The acclaimed British songstress premiered new music from the album during her intimate concert at Radio City Music Hall of November 17.
