Sexy Civics was directed by Haviland Stillwell, and it had a public service announcement style to it. “That was really fun. I had no idea what to expect. They sent me a script, but I didn’t know exactly what it was going to be. We had a blast. I had worked with Haviland, the director, previously, and the whole mission of that is for everybody to get involved. That is something that I really want to get behind: everybody being informed and being registered to vote and knowing their rights. That can only be better for all of us,” Griffin said. “I was really honored that they asked me to do it.”
On his plans for the future, he said, “For the rest of the summer, there is a chance I might go to Hawaii, so I’m excited about that. I just worked on this TV movie Before You Say I Do. It’s a romantic comedy, and I got to play the nice guy, which was good. For some reason, I always get cast as the villain. I got to do that with a great actress, Becca Tobin, and actor Ryan Kelley. I also got to work on this new short film called Killer Charm, which this director and writer Thom Harp and Kristyn Carey, wrote this part for me about Prince Charming, who gets called in to the DA’s office, and they wonder why these women are turning up asleep forever, and all of his past loves end up missing. We had a really good time with that, and are excited for it to come out.”
The heartthrob actor reconnected with Oscar winner Helen Hunt in an episode of House of Lies on Showtime. He was previously directed by Hunt in her feature film Ride.
Griffin has several other film and television projects this year that have yet to be announced. To learn more about Blake Cooper Griffin, follow him on Instagram and Facebook.
