The first official trailer confirmed every rumor that had emerged in the last few weeks about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The most notable rumor confirmed that this will be a science fiction military game set in outer space.
The story is set in the distant future, where humans have established space colonies overseen by the United Nations Space Alliance (UNSA). A faction emerges among the colonies called the Settlement Defense Front, which seeks to break away from the UNSA. To achieve this, they launch a surprise attack against several Earth cities and military outposts.
Players take on the role of Lt. Reyes and are tasked with leading their squad to first counter the Fronts attack on Earth followed by a counter-attack against their outposts in the cosmos.
While previous games in the series have been set in the distant future, this is the first to be primarily to be set in outer space. Infinite Warfare will be a science fiction military shooter that has been influenced by classic works like the Gundam series and games like the Killzone series.
Also announced in the trailer was the official confirmation of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, an HD version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It will be included in the Legacy Edition of the game, which is now available for pre-order.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be the thirteenth game in the iconic shooter series and it’s set to be released on November 4 for all major consoles along with the PC.
