A day in the life of Eric Simms: Wrestling booking agent (Includes interview)

As wrestling booker and promoter, his job description involves serving as a liaison between the different sponsors and the wrestlers. The hardest part of his job is the actual talent relations. “Sometimes, it is the greatest thing, and sometimes it is a nightmare. The traveling may be great at times, others it might not,” he said.

Simms’ plans for the future are to take care of his family, to promote more wrestling events, as well as to stay true to his job.

Each day, Simms is motivated by his desire to make money and to succeed. “I don’t leave my house if I am not making money. Also, I have a good passion for this business. I love the wrestling business and being around the guys. I grew up watching these guys, and now I get to work with them, and give back, and help them get work. It’s a great field for me,” he said.

The key to longevity in the wrestling booking industry is honesty and integrity. “Being honest. Just knowing what you are doing. If you do right by people, the sponsors will do right by you,” he said. “Always treat people fairly and try to give them a fair price.”

A 30-year veteran, Simms is able to look back with a lot of “great memories.” “Working with a lot of great talent and it’s a dream come true. I am literally living my dream,” he admitted. “I wish you a ‘simmsational’ day.”
