The changing role of university degrees: How young entrepreneurs are building AI-driven agencies

As artificial intelligence reshapes how businesses are built and scaled, some young entrepreneurs are pursuing alternatives to traditional academic paths. Carlos Esparraga is among a growing group who entered digital entrepreneurship early, focusing on agency models and online education rather than a university degree. Through a combination of structured training systems and experimentation, he went on to establish the TuDropShipper agency and later the De0a10k academy.

Entrepreneurship as an early outlet

Esparraga’s introduction to online business began during adolescence, following a period marked by injury and recovery after a football accident at age 13. With limited mobility and amid financial pressure at home, he began exploring digital business models as a way to remain productive and contribute financially.

Rather than framing this period as a turning point or breakthrough, Esparraga has described it as a time of trial and learning. During his teenage years, he launched TuDropShipper, experimenting with client acquisition and service delivery while still in school. According to Esparraga, the agency reached monthly revenues in the tens of thousands of dollars before he turned 16.

Developing an education model

Based on his early agency experience, Esparraga later launched the De0a10k Academy, positioning it as a structured training environment for Spanish-speaking students interested in social media marketing and digital agency work. The curriculum draws on agency frameworks adapted from international markets and tailored to Spanish-language audiences.

The academy has grown over time, offering recorded coursework and live sessions covering topics such as sales processes, client management, and basic financial operations.

An instruction-led approach

Rather than presenting the program as a shortcut to wealth, Esparraga positions himself primarily as an instructor. He remains directly involved in delivering live classes and updating course materials, while student outcomes vary depending on experience, effort, and market conditions.

The De0a10k platform currently includes several hundred hours of recorded content, supplemented by recurring live sessions each week, reflecting a structured but ongoing learning model rather than a one-time course.

Incorporating AI into agency work

In recent years, Esparraga has increasingly emphasized the role of AI tools within agency operations, particularly for workflow automation, content production, and client reporting. These tools are incorporated into De0a10k’s training as part of a broader discussion on how digital agencies are adapting to emerging technologies.

Rather than presenting AI as a guarantee of success, the academy frames it as an operational support layer that may improve efficiency when used appropriately.

Looking ahead

Esparraga has stated that his long-term objective is to continue expanding the academy’s educational scope and to compete more broadly within the online business education space, particularly in Spanish-speaking markets. He has also indicated interest in developing future projects focused on entrepreneurship education and personal development.

While the long-term outcomes of these initiatives remain to be seen, Esparraga’s trajectory reflects a wider shift among younger entrepreneurs toward alternative learning models shaped by digital platforms, agency work, and AI-enabled tools.

Similarly, Carlos Esparraga aspires to develop additional projects designed to help individuals overcome obstacles encountered in life and entrepreneurship.
