According to the Business of Fashion website, Moss is launching her own agency in a move that coincides with the London Fashion Week.
“It’s a grown-up thing. I felt like I wanted to do things that were more than modeling. It didn’t matter how much we would try and do it together with them, I was always going to be the little Kate that they’ve known since I was 14,” Moss told the Business of Fashion.
“It was like leaving home. I had to leave, and they were very understanding about it. They were like, ‘Yeah you’ve got to go now, we’ve done as much as we can do.’ I wanted to spread my wings.”

Earlier this year, Moss left the Storm Models where she started her modeling career 27 years ago, taking the industry by surprise. While many expected her to switch to a rival agency, the supermodel secretly laid out the blueprint for her own company, called the Kate Moss Agency.
The budding businesswoman’s small team is also working with her longtime booking agent, Lucy Baxter, as they aim to expand the Kate Moss lifestyle brand. Baxter also departed from the Storm earlier this year.

For Imran Amed, editor of the Business of Fashion, Moss’ move to start her own business was very timely.
“It’s a really exciting time to launch an agency. The modeling world has traditionally been run by long time agencies and there have been some other boutique agencies in recent years that can offer a more bespoke service to young people,” Amed, who conducted the interview, told the BBC.
“Modeling is so much about social media, the constant demand for content. Models aren’t just walking the runways and appearing in campaigns. They are also managing a constant feed of content through social media and online.”
Despite a string of scandals, the London-born Moss remains one of the world’s highest-paid models, according to American business magazine Forbes, which estimated her fortune at around £100 million.
The daughter of a travel agent and a barmaid was awarded the Model of the Year in 2006 at the British Fashion Awards.
