Great things in life start from small beginnings, and it’s true, as the success stories of entrepreneurs like Sun Yong Kim-Manzolini demonstrate. Sun Yong is the CEO of Lush Enterprises, an options trading company that brings in seven figures annually.
Although Sun Yong had worked hard and deserved everything she got – she didn’t know the true impact her business would have when she started it soon after retiring as a registered nurse.
In her interview, the 61-year-old Korean Immigrant who grew up in an orphanage back in her home country revealed she always wanted to retire early and have a decent life where she could take care of herself and her kids without being a burden to anyone. She didn’t want a life where she had to worry about paying her bills.
Thankfully, Sun Yong had been introduced to the world of options trading in the years just before her retirement. So she devoted herself to studying how it worked and getting all the online lessons she could, just gathering the skill she needed to trade. Sun Yong also went a step further by hiring a personal coach to train her, while she stayed up every day for hours to practice on demos and get her trading strategies together.
But even with all the effort she was putting in at the time. Sun Yong says she didn’t think much of trading. For her, it all came down to working as a hobby, like a side hustle. She didn’t know much about it, so it was something she was checking out after her retirement back in 2015 to see how it worked.
Then after trading on demo for a while, Sun Yong decided to take the plunge, and in 2017, she went live with her trading. There was no going back at that point; it was ‘sink or swim.’
“I thought sooner or later I have to start making money,” she says, adding, “So I got to test drive actual trading on a virtual account.”
Long story short, Sun Yong didn’t just make it that year; she flew and surpassed her expectations. Her earnings went through the roof from that point, as she made an astounding $178,000 that year, trading herself.
In retrospect, Sun Yong says it took some serious dedication and self-discipline for her to achieve that incredible feat. It was hard work. She pushed herself to learn how the business of options trading worked, putting in several hours each day for a couple of years till she eventually got the hang of it.
One of the finest rewards of achieving our goals in life is that we can share our knowledge to help others climb the ladder of life. For Sun Yong, the opportunity to mentor young entrepreneurs and teach them the skills that have made her a seven-figure entrepreneur over the years is simply priceless, one she’s happy to undertake as often as possible.
“I thought I could help people make money,” she enthuses. “Single mothers and single dads don’t have to work so hard like me. And then I could help retired people make money so they could have enough money to last them.”
But aside from learning the hard skills needed to successfully work the options trading market, Sun Yong believes that the most critical element for success is the right mindset. She says people have to stay positive always, regardless of the circumstances in their lives. According to her, people need to focus on the positive instead of worrying too much about what can go wrong. With that approach to life, Sun Yong says, “that’s why I am where I am today. In everything we do, there is negative, but there is always the positive.”
