Public Relations Professionals of Long Island to host 27th GALA

These honorees will include five outstanding professionals and two scholarship winners. PRPLI is the premier organization for public relations, marketing, and communications practitioners. It has been recognized as one of the most prestigious award programs on Long Island, and the Gala helps support the organization’s mission to provide a platform for its members to network, learn, mentor, and advance in their careers. The proceeds from the event also benefit PRPLI student scholarships.

Kali Chan, the president of Public Relations Professionals of Long Island and the director of media relations for Adelphi University remarked that the organization is “thrilled to honor such an impressive group of communications professionals from Long Island.” “These individuals have impacted the development of robust communications between clients and their publics as well as bringing news to the community at large,” Chan added.

Chan subsequently praised the honorees for being a great example of talent on Long Island, and a true reflection of the PRPLI’s core strength of helping people advance their careers forward. PRPLI also thanked its GALA platinum sponsors, which include Adelphi University, Castagna Realty Co., Inc., and Hofstra University.

This year’s honorees as Ellen Tashie Frisina, associate professor from Hofstra University for “Outstanding Mentor,” Kevin Ryan, the president of Kevin Ryan Public Relations for the “Jack Rettaliata Lifetime Achievement,” Randi Shubin Dresner, the president and Chief Executive Officer of Island Harvest for “Long Island Achievement,” Joe Dowd, editor and columnist for Long Island Business News for the “Outstanding Media” award, as well as Carley Weinstein, the social media manager of Hofstra University for the “Rising Star” award.
