PHOENIX – Mesa Air Group announced today that as a result of the illegal detention of 24 American service personnel by the People’s Republic of China, it would immediately implement a boycott of any and all goods and services manufactured by that country.
In making this announcement Mesa Air Group Chairman and CEO Jonathan Ornstein stated, “We can not on the one hand continue “business as usual” while at the same time the People’s Republic of China ignores international law and refuses to release 24 American service personnel”.
Mesa encourages other airlines and the Regional Airline Association to join in boycotting goods and services manufactured by the People’s Republic of China until all American service men and women are released. “We hope that our action today will help in bringing this regrettable situation to a speedy and satisfactory resolution for all parties,” said Jonathan Ornstein.
