The above video is an interview with Jay Rosen, a journalism professor at New York University and well-known new media expert. Based in New York City, Rosen wrote What Are Journalists For? about the rise of the civic journalism movement. From 1993 to 1997 he was the director of the Project on Public Life and the Press, funded by the Knight Foundation.
Rosen has gained an impressive following on Twitter (32,282 “followers”) thanks to his constant insight into journalism and citizen media issues.
DigitalJournal.com spoke to Rosen after his speaking session at mesh (an annual conference on Web trends), where he joined several other panelists to discuss social media in newsrooms.
