Bilan Liu began her design career at BrightSideGoods company, where she engaged in a new logo design project that, through teamwork, stood out globally among eco-conscious customers. The project aimed to create a brand identity that conveyed sustainability, modern elegance, and innovative design.
This transformed the brand’s logo into a heart symbol with the letter ‘B.’ The new logo also incorporated the brand’s philosophy, which is uniquely dedicated to compassion and sustainability. Sofas and lamps bring in the mood of warmth and light. The brand’s use of these elements alludes to its belief in developing eco-friendly homes.
Bilan’s project for BrightSideGoods’ visual identity began to win awards, including the MUSE Award, NYX Gold Awards, and IDA Design Awards, totaling five awards for this project, helping Bilan gain recognition. Winning these awards showed the project’s success in combining sustainable practices with strong design principles.
This project provided valuable experience that will likely influence Bilan’s future design career. It equipped her with a diverse skill set, ranging from logo design to market positioning strategies. It also highlighted the importance of strategic thinking in aligning design elements with brand ethos, ensuring resonance with the target audience. Bilan stated while talking about her journey, “Absolutely, the experience of working on the BrightSideGoods visual identity project will be immensely beneficial to my future career plans. It has been a pivotal experience that will undoubtedly shape my future career. It has provided me with a rich set of skills, insights, and experiences that I can apply to a wide range of design challenges, making me a more competent, thoughtful, and innovative designer in the long run.”
At the time of the project, Bilan especially remembers the cooperative element, that is, working together on developing the logo. The idea of serenity, which they found in the beauty of nature, brought the design simplicity. This finally culminated in a design that did more than just hold a symbolic meaning but instead became a reflection of BrightSideGoods’ principles.

Like with any project, developing BrightsideGoods’ new logo saw its fair share of challenges and obstacles along the way. Bridging the two concepts, i.e., ecology and contemporary aesthetics, were important to this project. With good design and inventiveness, it became possible to solve this challenge. Nevertheless, the journey was not an easy one; Bilan addressed challenges by being persistent and creative, resulting in her developing works that showed strength and environmental awareness. Bilan notes, “The most challenging aspect of designing the visual identity for BrightSideGoods was finding the perfect balance between the brand’s foundational principles of sustainability and modern elegance and translating these abstract concepts into a tangible visual form that resonates with the audience. This task was not just about aesthetics; it was about embedding the brand’s mission and values into every design element, making the visual identity both meaningful and impactful.”

As Bilan’s project workload grows, the contrast between assignments becomes evident. All projects possess a diversified form of learning that emphasizes Bilan’s dedication to the field of design and graphics.
Bilan Liu’s work on BrightSideGoods’ visual identity contributes to a more sustainable and visually appealing design landscape. Her contribution — logo after logo — amplifies the movement for a better, more beautiful, and sustainable future.
