Having a website is great. Having traffic to your site… even better. However, if you aren’t seeing the type of traffic that you want and need, then your website might not be as effective as it could be. Luckily, there are many ways to increase your website traffic, especially through your own site. Check out these tips for increasing the traffic on your site.

Implement an SEO strategy

The first thing you can do to increase website traffic is to implement an SEO strategy. Essentially, this means optimizing your site to rank higher in search engine results. This can be done through things like: When done correctly, these things can have a huge impact on your site traffic. Meaning that if people are able to find your site on their own, they are more likely to visit.

According to Melanie Bedwell, E-commerce Manager at OLIPOP, “SEO has become the most important driver of website traffic. If you’re not already doing it, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity to reach your target audience.”

Build a Community Around Your Brand

Another great way to increase traffic to your site is to build a community around your brand. This can be done through things like: You want to create a space where your brand and product are being discussed and explored. Doing so will help you build a community around your brand. This will, in turn, increase the amount of traffic to your site.

“People like to do business with other people, not faceless companies,” says Christy Pyrz, Chief Marketing Officer at Paradigm Peptides. “If you can build a community around your brand, you’ll find that people are more likely to buy from you because they feel like they know you.”

Use Google Ads

Google Ads (formerly AdWords) is Google’s advertising service designed for businesses that want ads displayed on Google and its partner websites. Ads allows businesses to set a budget for advertising and only pay when people click the ads. The ad service is largely focused on keywords.

As such, businesses that use Ads can bid on relevant keywords so their ads will show up in the search results when people enter those terms. If you’re running a website about dogs, for example, you could use Google Ads to target dog-related keywords so that your ads appear any time someone searches for information about dogs.

“Google Ads has proven to be a big win for our brand,” says Karim Hachem, VP of eCommerce at Maxine of Hollywood. “Not only do we get more traffic to our website, but we also get high-quality leads that convert into customers.”

While your mileage may vary, it’s worth considering Google Ads. Implemented effectively, Google Ads can be a major traffic driver for your website.

Partner With Influencers

One of the most effective ways to increase traffic to your website is by partnering with influencers in your industry. These are people with a large following on social media or other online platforms who can help promote your brand or product.

There are a few ways to go about this. You can reach out to influencers directly and ask them to promote your website or product on their platform. You can also work with an influencer marketing agency, which will connect you with influencers who are a good fit for your brand.

“We try to partner with as many influencers as possible,” says Nabiha Akhtar, CEO and Founder of Lil Deenies. “It’s a great way to get our name out there and reach new people. And while not all of them generate the same results, it’s worth it for the ones that do.”

Leverage Video Content

Another effective way to increase traffic to your site is to leverage video content. Using videos on your site can be very helpful in terms of driving traffic. This can be done in a number of different ways. You can create video tutorials, reviews, and more.

You can even create video content around your brand and product. You should aim to include videos on your site as much as possible, especially if you are trying to rank for a certain keyword. Google values video content a lot. It’s ideal for engaging people on your site and keeping them there longer, as well.

“It’s important for our company that we have a strong online presence, and one of the best ways to do that is by creating video content,” says Emily Saunders, Chief Revenue Officer of eLuxury. “Not only does video help us stand out from the competition, but it also allows us to better engage with our audience.”

Video is especially powerful when it comes to website traffic because it can be used to drive organic traffic through search engines and social media. And when done right, video can be an extremely effective way to promote your brand and increase awareness of your products or services.

Write Quality Guest Posts

If you want to increase the traffic to your site, one way to do so is to write quality guest posts. Guest posting is when you write posts for other people’s sites and place links back to your site in the author bio.

This is another effective way to drive traffic to your site because you are writing for other sites and getting your name out there. When you write for other people’s sites, make sure that you are including links back to your site.

According to Shaunak Amin, CEO and Co-Founder of SwagMagic, “Our website traffic has increased significantly since we started writing guest posts. We’ve been able to get our name out there and attract new readers.”

Plan Content Based on Audience Needs and Behaviors

Another effective way to increase traffic to your site is to plan content based on audience needs and behaviors. This means creating content that directly addresses the needs and concerns of your specific audience.

You want your site’s content to be useful, actionable, and engaging. This will help to keep your readers on the site for as long as possible. This will also encourage them to share your content with their peers.

“It only makes sense for us to cater to our target audience and give them content they will want to see,” says Marilyn Zubak, Marketing Lead at Snif. “We need to do our research on what they are searching for online, what their interests are, and what they are talking about.”

Try Paid Advertising

Paid advertising is one of the most effective ways to generate more traffic to your website. By using paid advertising platforms, you can target specific keywords or phrases that are relevant to your business and drive targeted traffic to your website.

Paid advertising can be a great way to get quick results and see a significant increase in website traffic. However, it is important to carefully consider your budget and target audience before investing in paid advertising.

“For us, it’s financially viable to do paid search, as well as organic,” says Ryan Delk, CEO of Primer. “Paid search traffic brings in new website visitors who may not have found us otherwise.”

In addition to increased website traffic, paid advertising can also result in higher-quality leads and conversions for your business. When done correctly, paid advertising can be a valuable investment for your business.

Don’t Forget About Organic Search

Organic search should be the foundation of your traffic-driving strategy. SEM (search engine marketing) and other paid tactics can bring in quick wins, but they should supplement—not replace—your organic traffic.

The first step to driving more organic traffic is to make sure your website is optimized for search engines. That means ensuring you have quality content, keyword-rich titles and descriptions, and a user-friendly design.

“We hired a company that specializes in SEO to help us improve our organic search rankings,” says Brianna Bitton, Founder of Flo Vitamins. “Within just a few months, we saw our traffic increase by 30%.”

Don’t Forget About Mobile Users

The last piece of the website traffic puzzle is mobile users. According to Statista, nearly 60% of all internet traffic in 2022 is generated through mobile devices. That’s significant.

This number has been steadily increasing over the years and is only going to continue to grow in the years ahead. As more and more people use their smartphones as their primary way to go online, it’s important that your website is designed with them in mind.

“In today’s e-commerce landscape, it is not enough to have a responsive website. You need to have a platform that is optimized for mobile users,” says Adam Nadelson, CEO of The I.V. Doc

Mobile accessibility means more potential visitors, which can ultimately boost your bottom line. If you’re not optimized for mobile, you’re missing out on a substantial number of paying customers.

Conclusion

There are a number of ways to increase your website traffic. By using some or all of the methods listed above, you can significantly boost the number of visitors to your site. Just remember to focus on quality over quantity and to keep your audience’s needs in mind when creating new content.

With a little effort, you can quickly see a noticeable difference in your website traffic levels.
