Digital Journal ranks 11th in Canadian Startup Index of Top 100

After debuting in 13th position in Techvibes’ quarterly ranking of Canadian startups in April, Digital Journal has moved up and now ranks 11th out of the Top 100 Canadian startups.

“It’s great to see Digital Journal move upward on Techvibes’ Canadian Startup Index,” said Chris Hogg, CEO of Digital Journal Inc. “Our business has seen solid growth over the quarter and we’re rolling out a number of really unique media and marketing innovations so we appreciate that Techvibes has noted our traction.”

Over the last quarter Digital Journal’s network has grown internationally and is now made up of more than 45,000 people in 200 countries. The company’s proprietary digital media platform also continues to get smarter, boasting the ability to segment content creators and influencers by rank, subject matter expertise and geography.

“A lot has happened in the last few months,” said Hogg. “We launched a major redesign, we’ve brought on a number of great brand partners and we are about to inject some very unique content marketing products into the media space. We’re aiming to deliver the shot in the arm the media industry has been waiting for.”

In addition to growth, the company has also added more talent to its senior leadership team who have been building products that pave the way for future international growth.

“Since my arrival at Digital Journal two months ago, we’ve seen strong growth in both audience and business,” said Leslie Andrachuk, Leader, Marketing Solutions. “We’re getting a phenomenal response from our partners and clients and we’re innovating new products that we think are going to have a material impact on the media and marketing industries.”

Andrachuk joined the Digital Journal in April 2013 having previously worked as online director for Star Media Group and Director of marketing and promotions at the Globe & Mail. “It’s a really exciting time to be part of a digital media company that thinks differently,” Andrachuk said.

Techvibes’ Canadian Startup Index is updated quarterly and profiles companies coast-to-coast. Techvibes is a technology media property that covers social, mobile, and startup news that impacts Canadians.
