Standing tall and staring in the face of adversity is a challenging task. The fear of the unknown and failure can be so intense and powerful that it can cripple even the most resilient minds. But that’s how the average entrepreneur’s day looks, according to Dennis Jenkins Jr. For him, challenges are nothing but lessons we can use to grow as people and discover new abilities.

“Most people see challenges as insurmountable obstacles whose sole purpose is to weigh us down and bring misery,” he says. “But you should remember one thing – an entrepreneur’s worth is not measured in their success or wealth, but the number of challenges they overcame on their way to the top.”

As a seasoned entrepreneur in the real estate industry and facilities management, Dennis Jenkins Jr. knows a thing or two about overcoming challenges. After all, he grew Executive Commercial Cleaning (ECC) from zero to a multi-million dollar worth franchise spreading throughout the States like wildfire. It has franchise owners in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and California.

But before going into facilities management like commercial cleaning, Jenkins Jr. was primarily involved with real estate – buying and repurposing commercial properties. As the owner of several commercial buildings, he needed somebody to clean and manage them.

“And no matter where I turned, I stumbled upon poor service. These cleaning companies weren’t giving me what I was looking for,” he says. “So I decided to start my cleaning business that would succeed where every other cleaning business failed.”

Even though Jenkins Jr. had little to no experience in the commercial cleaning industry, he embraced the challenge wholeheartedly and jumped in without thinking twice. Dennis Jenkins Jr. was certain that he could overcome any challenge as a man of faith and unwavering resilience.

“Faith plays a big role in my life. I believe in God and myself,” he says. “That’s where I turn to in moments when everything seems impossible. That’s where I draw my strength and confidence from.”

The risk Jenkins Jr. took and the challenges he faced paid out handsomely in the end. ECC became a money-making machine, raking over $7 million in annual revenue. Thanks to this incredible achievement, Jenkins Jr. expanded his real estate endeavors into affordable housing.

It is a passion project through which Jenkins Jr. wants to contribute to solving an affordable housing crisis. He knows that solving this issue is nearly impossible as a one-man army, but he believes that doing something is always better than doing nothing and that this is another challenge that needs to be overcome.

And when it comes to his secret for overcoming challenges, the strategy is simple yet powerful: keep your focus, stay rooted in your values and beliefs, and never give up.

As Jenkins Jr. points out, there will be times when you succeed and times when you don’t.

Still, the most important thing to remember is that you will become unstoppable only when you take advantage of the challenges in front of you.

“Don’t let challenges create panic, but excitement, and you will see how your life slowly begins to change,” says Dennis Jenkins Jr. “Take a deep breath, have faith in yourself and your abilities, and go out there and conquer the world. It’s time to show the world what you’re made of and make your mark.”
