Cannabis Going Corporate

Digital Journal — In southeastern England, a greenhouse sprawls across an acre of land. Electrified razor wire, video cameras and motion detectors surround the compound. Inside the air-filtered greenhouse, 15,000 marijuana plants grow under a 14-foot ceiling, comprising the potent strains known to most potheads: White Widow, Skunk, Northern Lights.

This is not some shady grow-op owned by paranoid dealers. Rather, it is the pot headquarters for GW Pharmaceuticals, an eight-year-old company that developed a cannabis-based spray to treat neuropathic pain.

This oral form of cannabis, and other new medicinal marijuana opportunities designed to dispel the reefer madness of yesteryear, are part of a growing trend to capitalize on ganja’s health benefits.

The cannabis business will find a home in pharmacies across the country, and much sooner than you might think…
