Ashley Madison re-branded itself, and its parent company, Avid Life Media, has renamed itself Ruby. One of the things that didn’t stick around is the website’s popular tagline: “life is short, have an affair.”
To go along with the new look, the site has released new ads. In one advert, a couple is shown living a pleasant but boring life. However, that appears to change when they go to a party and they both are captivated by a woman serving drinks, and it’s obvious that they like her. The ad then ends with the tagline “find your moment.”
The decision to re-brand the site and parent company comes after Avid Life got caught up in controversy in 2015. Hackers managed to get hold of more than 30 million names of people in Ashley Madison’s database. The hackers eventually released those names to the public.
It also comes after Ruby said the Federal Trade Commission is investigating its practices. In the past, the company admitted it used computer bots, which were used to create fake female profiles to attract the attention of male users.
Earlier this month Rob Segal was appointed as the new CEO. He released a statement saying that his first step was to rebuild the company as a relevant and digital dating innovator that cares about their customers.
A global advertising campaign is set to launch in a few days, with hopes that it will help to accelerate Ashley Madison’s re-branding.
