The completed acquisition of Mindtribe and the pending acquisition of Pillar Technology by Accenture is part of a push to expand its Industry X.0 practice, says the company.
Industry X.0 is Accenture’s platform that helps companies develop their digital transformation strategies by shifting to digital products and services..
Accenture announced both deals on August 9, saying that both Mindtribe, a product engineering consulting firm, and Pillar Technology, a software and content company that creates “digital experiences”, will help with Accenture’s delivery of smart connected software and physical products to companies.
“With our Industry X.0 capabilities, we are helping our clients create the products of the future with the required expertise in digital technologies, software development, product engineering, as well as user experience and product design,” said Mike Sutcliff, group chief executive at Accenture Digital, in the company press release. “These acquisitions will fuel our drive to become a leader in developing connected products and services.”
According to Crain’s Detroit Business, the Mindtribe acquisition closed on Thursday, and Accenture has yet to comment on when its deal with Pillar Technology is expected to close.
