Review: Jeff Timmons shines on ‘I Do’ acoustic duet with Jessie Chris (Includes first-hand account)

Their song’s music video was filmed at Wilbur Theatre, and it was directed by Justin Mayotte.

Timmons begins the song with his soothing vocals and is instantly able to grab the listener and lure them in, while Chris accompanies him on acoustic guitar. He is able to hit the high notes effortlessly, and simultaneously maintain good control over his vocals.

Jessie Chris takes the following verse and her vocals are reminiscent of global music superstar Taylor Swift, and Timmons harmonizes well with her. While the song is less than two and a half minutes in duration, they leave the listener yearning for more. Their clip for “I Do” can be seen on YouTube below:

The Verdict

Overall, Jeff Timmons and Jessie Chris deliver on “I Do.” They were able to dust off the 98 Degrees original recording and give this love ballad a refreshing feel. All they needed to make acoustic magic was an acoustic guitar, a talented cajón player and their superb vocals. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
