Adele sells 5 million copies of ’25’ in 3 weeks

Her total sales numbers for 25 is 5.19 million copies, thus making it the best-selling album of any calendar year since 2011, proving that Adele is a true force to be reckoned with. This is quite impressive especially since the British songstress accomplished this milestone in only three weeks, according to Billboard Magazine.

Adele’s album went on to sell another 728,000 copies this week, where 695,000 units were in pure album sales, which is a lot more than industry forecasters had predicted. Last week alone, the album sold in excess of one million copies, where she set another result.

With only three weeks remaining for 2015, 25 is expected to sell over six million units.

Her lead single “Hello” sits at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for its sixth consecutive week.
