Background includes radio hosting, writing for traditional media and editing a small town newspaper called The Real Views in Natchitoches, Louisiana as well as serving adjunct faculty at Northwestern University in Natchitoches. Originally from Oregon, I lived 28 years in Hawaii and continue to maintain contact with the islands through property and friends. I hold multiple degrees and certifications in psychology, political science, education, journalism, life care planning and document examination with hobbies that include music (several instruments) and painting (watercolor and acrylic and strictly amateur.)
I write mostly about issues and areas where I have a background with my beats normally Hawaii (because of time and contacts there), Oregon (where I live half the year) and Louisiana (where I spend the other half)
I have numbers of awards for writing and for work in other areas, listed in the Marquis Who's Who of American Women for 2006 and 2008 and the International Who's Who of Authors and Writers for 2000, primarily for my work as an education/counseling writer.
