Op-Ed: U.S. economy walking on technicalities but the nightmare might not happen

The U.S., despite itself, might get away with the last nine months of pure economic chaos. Bizarre as it might sound, America's maimed financial sector, housing crisis and credit crunch haven’t produced much more than a loud, sincere, “Ouch.”

Actor Kevin Spacey will teach at Oxford

Kevin Spacey was offered a teaching job for a year at Oxford University and he has accepted the offer. The Hollywood actor, who has also won acclaim as a theatre actor, will begin teaching next semester.

Babies in Fallujah, Iraq are being born showing illnesses and deformities on a scale never before witnessed say doctors and residents. Since "special weaponry" first was used in 2004 in Fallujah's massive bombing the death rate of children has increased.

Madame Tussauds Will Include Hitler At Berlin Museum

The mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit had asked Mamade Tussauds to reconsider a planned Hitler display in its new Berlin museum. The museum is standing firm saying that leaving Hitler out would not make sense when it comes to his role in German history.

U.S. restored Fulbright scholarships to 7 Gaza students

Seven Palestinians who had received Fulbright scholarship grants could not accept them due to the blockade of the Gaza Strip by Israel. The U.S. has stepped in and the students now will be allowed to leave and go to Jerusalem to apply for their visas.

I was reading a noble, not to say desperate, attempt by a columnist to define Australian culture. His theory was that Australian and American culture would part ways. All the consumer data was against him, but the global element wasn’t in the equation.

Gaza students blocked from studying abroad by Israel

The prestigious Fulbright scholarship program awarded grants to seven Palestinians who live in the Gaza Strip. Because of the blockade of the Gaza Strip by Israel, the students are not being allowed to leave.
