A Sydney, Australia – based journalist and editor, I specialize in news-style political, environmental, science and human rights reports. I am a keen supporter of independent and progressive journalism and have a long-standing interest in the way news is written, presented, packaged and disseminated to readers.
A contributor to publications as varied as the Asia Times, New Zealand-based environmental magazine Pacific Ecologist, Worldpress and the now-defunct US-based New Standard; as well as Australian journals New Matilda, Green Left Weekly and Online Opinion, I also work for a number of citizen journalism sites including NowPublic, Streem (now defunct) and OhmyNews, generally covering breaking news and stories of interest from the Asia Pacific region.
Formerly employed as the Australian desk's contributing editor for Florida-based news agency All Headline News, I am currently a regular contributor for news/entertainment portal Monsters and Critics and its sci/tech spin-off magazine The Tech Herald as well as writing water supply articles for the U.S.-based water journal OOSKAnews.
My most recent work includes accepting a position as a volunteer editor for the international version of the aforementioned Korean citizen journalism site OhmyNews, where I am part of a team committed to quality output.
