Ariento’s Chief Engineer Selected for CMMC Provisional Assessor Program

Andrew Ro, Chief Engineer at Ariento Inc., was selected this week to participate in the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Provisional Assessor Training Program. The program is put on by the CMMC Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB) and will start next week.

Seventy-two (72) qualified assessor candidates were selected to be “Provisional Assessors” out of more than 500 qualified applicants. Each will be authorized to conduct assessments during the provisional period which is expected to last until January 2021.   

Provisional Assessors had to meet elevated criteria and experience requirements, and will be required to provide feedback and retrospective information with the CMMC-AB following each assessment.

CMMC is a new cyber compliance standard put out by the Department of Defense (DoD) and expected to take effect later this year. The CMMC-AB has been working with the DoD and hundreds of members of the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) to deploy a CMMC assessment ecosystem that will enhance the security our nation’s supply chain. As an assessor, Andrew will be trained and authorized to conduct CMMC Provisional assessments.
