It wasn't a tale about a dolphin that provided a nice surprise at the box office over the weekend, but rather a suspense film. It was a also tale of two new movies where one over-achieved and the other one under-performed.
This is the weekend when Hollywood wouldn't mind a pleasant surprise. That would be in the form of "Dolphin Tale 2." The family-friendly film is out and simply because of the theater count, it could end on top.
Miranda Lambert tops the field as the Country Music Association Awards nominations were announced today (Sept. 3). Lambert received nine nominations while Dierks Bentley, Eric Church and Keith Urban grabbed four each.
One would think Labor Day would be a gold mine for a new movie release and get in one more summer season blockbuster. But it isn't. In fact, a movie that has been the talk of the summer is once again the No. 1 movie in the land.
