Gemma Fox is addicted to news. She's also addicted to the Internet and often with disastrous results. A year ago her Internet cut out for one week which led her to spend copious amounts of time (and money) in Internet cafes but she probably got her own back when Stavros saw the bill from his IT company after a week of Gemma crashing various computers in his cafes.
Gemma was making up a mix tape of various songs for a long trip when the first plane hit the World Trade Center on September 11 2001. Within moments she was glued to
Sky News and saw the second plane hit and watched for hours afterwards as events unfolded. There was no dragging her away from the TV. There are many parts of that day that Gemma will never forget, including spending some horrific moments after the second plane hit wondering whether that was it or whether targets around the world would start to be attacked. Watching the towers collapse is also something that will never leave her mind.
Professionally Gemma works hard trying to change how society perceives the elderly and works towards trying to make every day life for the elderly worth living.
Gemma is also involved in Palliative Care, something which is in her heart. Currently she works with a Palliative Care nurse auditing the care given to people who are dying. Gemma has been asked to write a bereavement guide unique to her company and has began researching that.
Gemma is busy beyond belief but wouldn't have it any other way. She also digs this third person bio of her.
Born in Scotland she still resides there even though during the winter months warmer climates are tempting.
Writing is something Gemma is used to. Writing for Digital Journal as a Digital Journalist is a big part of her life now. Gemma writes the odd poem and also writes articles for other sites which can be viewed through her website
GemmaFox.co.uk if she's updated it!
Being addicted to the news means Gemma can often be found staring blankly at either the TV or computer screen. This is usually an indication that something is working it's way through her mind to her computer.
