House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer was scheduled to come to Syracuse today for a town hall meeting. The only such meeting he was to participate in this month, it was carefully selected to lend support to Democratic Congressional candidate Dan Maffei.

This morning I sat in a class with over 100 other students and listened to a Distinguished Professor proceed to make a remark so offensive that I was compelled to get up and walk out of the lecture. At least five other students walked out as well.

The Republic of Georgia claims Russia committed an act of aggression on Monday by allegedly bombing a small Georgian village. Georgian officials produced fragments of the projectile though Russia denies the incident.
