Aside from reading, my first love is in writing (they go hand in hand for me.) I was never encouraged to pursue my love for writing, as it was seen as 'impractical'. I didn't start taking my writing seriously until about five years ago, while in college to be a hair stylist.
Since then, I've discovered many forms of creative writing that has left me feeling more independent, confident and even giddy - like a kid in a candy store. I'm in awe of this new world of language.
My passion seems to lie in short stories (some are so short I call them micro-stories) but as I discover more poetry (I came across the talents of Shane Koyczan about 8 years ago and have been curious since), it's becoming a close second. (Though to read, not write - I'm not that brave yet.)
When I'm not playing chasing games, having a tea party or playing at the park with my two year old, I can be found reading, writing or knitting.
