Lynne Melcombe began working as a freelance journalist in 1984. Her early work appeared in the
Vancouver Sun, Ottawa Citizen, Montreal Gazette, Equinox, BC Woman, Georgia Straight, and many more publications. In 1996, Lynne started a small communications business. Over the past 13 years, she's done media work, written marketing materials, edited university courses, and run a communications department, working in subject areas ranging from social services to the environment and health to international education. In addition to feature articles for DJ, Lynne writes about what's going on in her community for
Examiner.com, and picks up note-taking, writing, and editing contracts when they find her. Lynne is a member in good standing of the
Professional Writers Association of Canada and the
Editors Association of Canada. She and her husband have three children, two rabbits, one dog -- and a house that needs more attention than the kids and animals combined.
