Michel a Toronto human rights activist for the past 30 years, holds double Masters in Philosophy and Library and Information Science.
He is the President/CEO of the Queer West Arts and Cultural Centre and founder of the annual Toronto Queer Arts Festival. and Program Manager for the Queer West Film Festival
Michel is the Publisher of Outexpressions Newspaper , a social enterprise of Toronto Queer West Arts Centre. Occasionally he compiles event lists and writes the odd blog story on queer life in Toronto including Digital Journal News Magazine, although he is not a professional writer.
Michel ran a Philosophy Cafe for 7 years called Wilde Chats, where up to 40 people from all walks of life, met weekly. To discuss topics like: Does it make sense to believe in a soul?
Michel is an art lover and occasional painter, some of his best acrylic works were on display during the Queer West Arts Festival at Gladstone Hotel.in June 2008.
He served the community, as Member of Board of Directors and Secretary for the Fort York Food Bank (797 Dundas W.) for 5 years, one of the largest food banks in the City of Toronto (fyfb.com)
In 2003 he established the Gay West Bicycle Club which now has 160 active members.
Michel is in a common law relationship with a Hungarian Roma hairstylist, both love cycling, entertaining friends, and cooking together.
