Michel a Toronto human rights activist for the past 30 years, holds double Masters in Philosophy and Library and Information Science. He is the President/CEO of the Queer West Arts and Cultural Centre and founder of the annual Toronto Queer Arts Festival.
When not researching some historical project or running an Arts festival. Michel is a professional Web Editor & Designer.
Occasionally he freelances for the Art Centre newspaper Outexpressions; compiling event lists and writing the odd blog story on queer life in Toronto including Digital Journal, although he is not a professional writer.
Michel ran a Philosophy Cafe for 7 years called Wilde Chats, where up to 40 people from all walks of life, met weekly..
Michel is an art lover and occasional painter, some of his best acrylic works were on display during the Queer West Arts Festival at Gladstone Hotel.in June 2008
He served the community, as Member of Board of Directors and Secretary for the Fort York Food Bank (797 Dundas W.) for 5 years, one of the largest food banks in the City of Toronto (fyfb.com)
Michael is in a domestic partnership with a 33 yr old, a Hungarian Roma (Professional Hairstylist) for the past three years. Neither has a problem with the age difference.
Michel an avid year round commuter cyclist and hasn’t been on the public transit in 20 years. In 2003 he established the Gay West Bicycle Club which now has 153 active members.
