Opinion: Tom Cheek, Voice of the Toronto Blue Jays

It's that time of year again, where we must all aspire to do our part to get the legendary voice of the Toronto Blue Jays, Tom Cheek, awarded the Ford C. Frick Award, for "major contributions to baseball."

Gregg Zaun Hits Dramatic Grand Slam for Toronto Blue Jays

What a ball game. Exactly how the Jays drew it up. Four hours and 15 minutes long, a blown 3-0 lead in the top of the ninth, a 4-3 deficit in the bottom of the 13th inning, and a walk-off grand slam by "0-for-in-August" Gregg Zaun.

Toronto Blue Jays Enjoying Playing Spoiler

The Blue Jays are relishing the role of spoiler. They completed a sweep of the Minnesota Twins last night, giving the Twinkies' playoff aspirations a big "screw you" in the process.

Opinion: Excited About North America's Election Season

I can admit it: I'm a sucker for American politics. I eat it up. I have been absolutely enthralled by the American presidential election, and am eagerly anticipating Tuesday, November 4.

On Tomas Kaberle, Bryan McCabe and Mats Sundin

As I was lying on the beach this past weekend, basking in the glory of some incredible Labour Day long weekend weather, all I could think about was Tomas Kaberle. Check out the following video tribute made in honour of the Maple Leafs' stud defenceman:

Pulling the Plug on the Toronto Blue Jays

It's official, I've pulled the plug. Rest easy, 2008 Toronto Blue Jays. Yes, it was over long before last night, but Carl Pavano, Carl freaking Pavano, drove the final nail into the Toronto coffin.

Matt Garza Dominates Toronto Blue Jays...Again

Matt Garza is a Toronto Blue Jays killer. Last night he, once again, toyed with our boys. In four starts against the Jays this year, Garza has allowed a paltry one run in 31 innings.

45 Years Ago Today, Martin Luther King Jr. Had A Dream

Forty-five years ago today, Martin Luther King Jr. stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and gave one of the greatest speeches of all time.

Opinion: Five Ways I'd Change the NHL

For those who read Greg Wyshynski's Puck Daddy blog over at Yahoo!, you know what he's been up to this summer. He's had different personalities, from Will Leitch to uber hockey blogger James Mirtle, weigh in with their top five ways they'd change the NHL.

Opinion: Toronto Raptors Forward Chris Bosh Is Golden

Chris Bosh knows a lot about losing; he is, after all, a Toronto Raptor (zing!). After his trip to Beijing, and a crash course in how to kick serious international basketball ass, Bosh is coming home with a gold medal. And he is most deserving.

Boston Red Sox Defeat Toronto Blue Jays, Causing My Heart to Hurt

I don't know if you caught yesterday's game, but all I have to say about it is this: Matt Stairs was safe. The home plate umpire blew the call in the sixth inning, and it cost the Toronto Blue Jays the game.

Toronto Blue Jays Send Shaun Marcum to Minor Leagues

Before I get to the point, suck on that, Massholes. An 11-0 victory by the Blue Jays over the Red Sox tied up the weekend set at one a piece. Before the game on Saturday, news broke that starting pitcher Shaun Marcum had been optioned to the minors.

Toronto Blue Jays Offence Explodes Again

Another 14 runs. Another 20+ hit game. Twenty-one last night, to be exact. More importantly, another win for the Blue Jays. I don't know about you, but I could get used to this type of offence.

Yankees Spank Blue Jays 5-1

The Toronto Blue Jays were due for a butt-kicking. David Purcey vs. Andy Pettitte was really a no-contest from the get go. Purcey struggled, Pettitte was effective, and the Jays bats were eerily silent yet again.

New York Yankees Outfielder Johnny Damon Can't Catch

I would like to take this opportunity to thank New York Yankees outfielder Johnny Damon for his shocking inability to catch routine fly balls at the Major League level.

Bidding Adieu To Toronto FC's Maurice Edu

It's a sad day for Toronto FC. It's official, Maurice Edu is leaving us. He's on his way to greener pastures after signing a 5-year deal with the Glasgow Rangers of the Scottish Premier League.

Toronto Blue Jays Crush Boston Red Sox 15-4

Wow. That - a 15-4 whipping of the Red Sox by Toronto - was most enjoyable. Ain't nothing like beating the living crap out of the Beantowners. To do it at Fenway Park, against their "ace," well, I can't ask for much more than that.

Opinion: It's Make Or Break Time For The Toronto Blue Jays

After watching the Toronto Blue Jays take three of four from the Detroit Tigers, one thing is for certain: Magglio Ordonez needs a haircut. Desperately.

Not Throwing In The Towel On The Toronto Blue Jays...Yet

I still don't have it in me to throw in the towel on the Jays' season. Perhaps that's because I'm a homer. Or simply an unrealistic idiot. Regardless, I just don't have it in me.

A.J. Burnett Finally Putting It All Together, But Will He Stay A Toronto Blue Jay?

Holy crap. I think Toronto Blue Jays pitcher A.J. Burnett is finally, finally, putting it all together. We're not even halfway through August and Burnett registered his 14th win of the season last night. I'm like, giddy.
