As a journalist, how can you ever forget your first assignment, milling about on the scene? I certainly havent. It was Queen Elizabeth II's tour to Canada during the Golden Jubilee in 2002. I was 16-years- old then and a new intern for The Oakville Beaver. My love for reporting the news, informing my community and experiencing the occasional run ins with celebrities was sparked instantly. Today, I am the proud holder of a journalism degree from Ryerson University and work as a freelance writer based in Toronto.
