Although typhoon ‘Sendong’ that hit the Philippines in the last quarter of 2011 was considered the world’s deadliest storm, the recent super-typhoon, locally known as ‘Pablo’ that hit Davao Oriental and Compostela provinces was more devastating.

At least 322 people have been reported dead as super typhoon Bopha moves away from the big islands of Mindanao in southern Philippines on its way to the Luzon area of the West Philippine sea toward the direction of China or Vietnam.

Dozens of people have been killed and over 56,000 evacuated to shelters as Typhoon Pablo, or Bopha, the strongest typhoon in a year, continues to batter the southern Philippines. (Updated.)
