This week’s releases include witty and sarcastic television; horror movies unafraid of not-so-happy endings; everyone’s favourite blue genie; and a couple of excellent HBO Emmy nominees.
UPDATE: 5.25.15 - It was a weekend when the numbers needed to be updated. "Tomrrowland" took in $41.74 million while "Pitch Perfect 2" grabbed $38.5 million for the four-day holiday weekend.
‘Tomorrowland’ displays a desire for innovation rarely seen in contemporary film, and delivers a picture packed with stunning set designs and a starry-eyed storyline.
As "Pitch Perfect 2" enters its second weekend, it will be interesting to see how much it drops. Sure, that does not sound like a positive start to a box office report, but that is one headline going into the weekend.
