True North Sports & Entertainment, the new owner of the Atlanta Thrashers, has announced it has reached its goal of selling 13,000 season tickets prior to the June 21 meeting of the NHL's board of governors.
It appears as though fans in Manitoba will have to wait a bit longer for an announcement on the potential sale and relocation of the Atlanta Thrashers to True North Sports & Entertainment in Winnipeg.
Winnipeg -
It was reported today in the Toronto Sun that the move by Atlanta Thrashers to Winnipeg has been "confirmed" and they are only waiting on paperwork to finalize the deal.
According to Stephen Brunt of The Globe and Mail, a deal has been reached to sell the Atlanta Thrashers to True North Sports and Entertainment, a group based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Hockey fans in Winnipeg may not have the Phoenix Coyotes, because they are staying in Arizona, but they are hoping that the Atlanta Thrashers will be moving north soon.
