Washington, D. C. -
Dozens of prototypes of the newest and most-expensive US weapon ever built, the F-35 fighter jet, were grounded Tuesday after a still-unexplained engine fire in Florida, the Pentagon said.
Soon after photos of China's new J-31 stealth fighter were posted to Chinese social media with news that a test flight had taken place at the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation airfield, video purporting to show the fighter in its maiden flight was released.
The lighting on the plane in both pictures appear to be identical.
No seams or rivets can be seen on the stealth fighter Iran claims to manufactured.
Similarities to a stock photo and the photo released by the Iranian government are illustrated.
The US Defense Department plans to eventually own more than 2,000 of these F-35 fighter planes, shown here landing after a test flight at Edwards Air Force Base in Southern California, and sell hundreds to allies.
