Lighthouse Resources Inc., a coal company with mines in Wyoming and Montana, and White Stallion Energy LLC, a miner that operates in Indiana and Illinois, both filed for bankruptcy after the Covid-19 pandemic dropped coal prices.
Academy Award-winning actress Rita Moreno has been on a roll lately. She was recognized with the Peabody Career Achievement Award at the 78th Annual Peabody Awards in New York City.
They are prestigious and they often trump other awards in the genre in which they win. They are the Peabody Awards and the winners were announced today (March 27).
"Jeopardy" has just bagged a Peabody. So has Stephen Colbert. OK, wait just a minute. Before we go any further, let's answer this question. What is a Peabody?
In Dayton, Ohio we met Shelley, a nursing student, as she headed to class. She asked, "Can you use coal to power your home?" We explained that 82 percent of Ohio’s electricity is generated by coal. “I didn’t know that," she said. “I definitely want to support the use of clean coal technology. It doesn't make sense not to.”

Mrs. Monya McFall, one of the first documented women miners, holds up a picture of herself in 1978. She told us, "Coal provided me with the opportunity to care for my family since I was just a girl. Now the advancement in technology will allow my grandkids to work in the same field, only they will design the plants that burn the coal that I used to dig out."
