New York cops kill bystander after undercover gun buy goes bad

Mount Vernon - A bystander was shot and killed by a New York police officer after an undercover gun buy went wrong in the New York City suburb of Mount Vernon, police said on Saturday. The bystander was shot while the officer was chasing a fleeing suspect.

A side view of Mount Vernon's kitchen. This structure was built in 1775 by George Washington in the vicinity of the main house. It was placed close enough for convenience, but far enough to reduce the risk of damage to the main house in the event of a fire. Currently, an archeology project is ongoing outside of the structure. Here you can see some of the team covering up the excavation at day's close.
