One of the biggest stories of 2012 was that people across the world were convinced that the end of the Mayan calender meant the end of the world.

With the news that it is 12/21/12 and no signs of the Apocalypse, we may heave a sigh of relief and indulge in some lighthearted celebration of yet another failed doomsday prophecy. Celebration? For the 1%, yes, obviously; but for the 99%?

It's important not to be caught out when the world ends in apocalyptic catastrophe on December 21. Too often doomsday fanatics end up penniless when the sun rises on another day, leaving their prophetic illusions shattered and their bank balance empty.

NASA is so confident that the Mayan Apocalypse will fail on Dec. 21 that it has released ahead of its Dec. 22 schedule, a video titled, "Why the World didn't End Yesterday." But some ask, is it unsure that anyone would see the video on Dec. 22?
