Microsoft is expanding its Insider community testing program to include under-development hardware. It has sent out letters to some lucky people who have contributed useful feedback on Windows 10, offering them the chance to test a Lumia 950 handset.

This week, Microsoft unveiled its new Windows 10 Mobile flagships, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. Seeing as the last ones are over 15 months old, fans were understandably excited but many have been underwhelmed as even Microsoft appeared to disown the devices.

This week, Microsoft hosted a much-anticipated press event in New York during which it unveiled Windows 10 smartphones, an upgraded Surface Pro and even an all-new laptop in a presentation that I think completed its transition to an exciting new company.

Microsoft's new Windows 10 Mobile smartphones are now official as the company gave its two flagship devices a formal unveiling at its New York event today. The 5.2-inch Lumia 950 is joined by the 5.7-inch Lumia 950 XL to showcase Windows 10 for phones.

Reports have indicated that Microsoft may have cancelled its rumoured Windows 10 Mobile Lumia unveiling next month in favour of a large-scale October event set to include the Surface Pro 4, flagship Lumias, a smaller Xbox and the Microsoft Band 2.
