Historic flooding ahead as Hurricane Sally crawls toward Coast

Hurricane Sally drew closer to the U.S. Gulf Coast on Tuesday morning, threatening historic floods and life-threatening flash floods, the National Hurricane Center said, with more than two feet (61 cm)of rain expected in some areas.

Residents in parts of Arkansas were preparing for what meteorologists on Sunday predicted will be the worst flooding in recorded history along parts of the Arkansas River over the coming week.

Danger grows as Eastern Canada faces more rain and flooding

Parts of Quebec and New Brunswick, as well as eastern Ontario, are already experiencing historic spring flooding. However, more rain is in the forecast today from central Ontario to northern New Brunswick.
