Some Atlantic Canadians woke up to a light breeze and the odd raindrop on Saturday morning, but residents are bracing for the impact of what is now a strong Category 1 hurricane.

As the effects of Hurricane Dorian are being felt along the U.S. southeast coast, Canadian forecasters say the storm system is expected to severely impact parts of the Atlantic provinces this weekend.
As Hurricane Dorian approaches Florida, the National Hurricane Center is keeping track of four potential tropical systems that could become the next tropical depression and possibly Tropical Storm Fernand.
Hurricane Dorian at present is expected to make landfall in Florida. Miami, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa are all rushing to take bikes and scooters from their streets.
Tropical Storm Dorian is expected to be a hurricane when it reaches the U.S. East Coast this weekend, after plowing through the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico today.

Tropical Storm Dorian intensified Monday as it approached the Caribbean on a track that will take it near Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic by midweek, possibly at hurricane strength, US forecasters said.
Tropical Storm Dorian is churning westward toward the Lesser Antilles and is likely to bring rain and strong winds to parts of those islands in the first half of the week ahead.
Hurricane Dorian is now a very dangerous Category 4 storm.
