Three suspected Al Qaeda militants were killed in a U.S. drone attack in the south-eastern province of Maareb. The mostly desert area has been a refuge for militants driven from their strongholds by a recent offensive.

Mohammed Ahmad, Yemeni Defense Minister, was not harmed by a car bomb blast outside the cabinet office in Sanaa the capital. However, 12 people were killed including several of the ministers' bodyguards.
Yemeni government officials have confirmed that 13 innocent civilians were killed by a U.S. unmanned aerial drone strike in al-Baitha province on Sunday.
