In an appearance on CNN's 'Piers Morgan Tonight,' Seth MacFarlane, creator of the popular animated series 'Family Guy,' spoke out about an uncomfortable telephone conversation initiated by Jon Stewart.

There seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel for the Hollywood writers strike but is it too little and too late? It has been over four months since Hollywood writers used their talents and in that time the business has survived.

Canadian shows are crossing the border. The U.S. is picking up Canadian shows right and left. The latest show to soon be seen in the States is CTV drama "The Listener," a show based in Toronto about a paramedic with telepathic powers.

Writers are hoping to negotiate individually with studios. The studios have said they won’t do that, but there’s some difference of opinion regarding whether they’re obliged to do that under certain circumstances.

If the writers’ strike continues, it will have a great effect on the Los Angeles economy. The city could lose more than $20 million a day in direct production spending, according to a film group’s estimate.
